This elegant Japanese tea kettle dates back to the Meiji Period, mid 19th century. Perfectly balanced between ornate details and minimalism, this kettle will sophistically accent any collection. Each of the six panels is inlaid with brass depicting floral motifs and surprise elements such as butterflies. The warmth and sheen of the brass designs contrast the dark matte bronze and mixed metals that make up the rest of the kettle.
Collector’s Notes:
The globular form has six raised panel and each is inlaid with a brass inlay. The lid of identical shape is also inlaid with a naturalistic motif in one of its six triangular panels. The hinged handle has a flowing leaf motif.
